She was destined to be granted the rank of  [ Marquess ]  once she’d accepted her pre - arranged marriage after her coming of age ,  however it was through the revelation of her origins and her acts of charity earned her such illustrous monikers as  [ The Angel of Noblesse Oblige ]  and  [ The People’s Saintess ] ,  gaining her much favour with the commoners .   This unfortunately lead to the execution of Illyria de Asteriou ,  as well as Antheia being made Crown Princess by order of the emperor .

As a seed of Crann Bethadh , Antheia’s purpose is to understand life at its utmost core — her entire existence is centered around the goal of experiencing every facet of life , over and over again , from every angle possible . As is the case with the “world tree ,” Antheia is connected to every living thing when awakened , and in order to understand the meaning of living as they do , dying as they do , she walks several different paths throughout her existence . She leads many lives with varying roles : a life where she's essentially the Shōjo Protagonist™ , a life in which she is the villain , a life as a mere background character , a life as a recluse hiding from society , a life as a street urchin , and even a lifetime as an empress of a long-forgotten empire .While she has experienced many deaths , her focus is not on the nature of the deaths she experiences or the grief of losing her life , it is instead focused on how she lived that life before it ended . Was she selfless, and if so, how did that affect others around her ? If she made selfish decisions , how did that impact the world ? How did she feel when receiving a selfless act , or when betrayed by someone she trusted ? She is fixated on memorising every aspect of the emotions she feels , from heartbreak to falling in love , desiring to understand what it is to truly live life . She knows what it is to fight this fate , how to give up , and even how to live a life as a woman seen as a villainess who only cares for herself . Though she doesn't know for certain what will happen when she truly understands the meaning of living , Antheia knows without a single doubt that she must keep living until she finds it .The roots of Crann Bethadh extend to every shard and every plane of existence through the universe, just as the lifestream encompasses all life , and thus Antheia has lived across various worlds throughout her lifetimes .

Due to the harrowing prophecy surrounding the birth of  [ Crown Princess Illyria Odysseas de Asteriou ] ,   the reigning Emperor of Illyricum needed to bolster public opinion in order to preserve the power of the Imperial family .    [ Emperor Demitrius Odysseas de Asteriou ]  sought to bring into the family a Crown Prince — more accurately ,  someone to step into the place of his daughter as his heir .    Demitrius found his solution in a young man living on the streets ,  with a keen eye for social manipulation and the ability to play nobility like a fiddle . Upon first glance ,  Apollo appears to have light brown eyes ,  since he usually glamours himself as having such . The human girl - child named Ileana was a being forged by several generations of picking only the best partners to continue her lineage .    The very first witch was a spawn of Lhu'ctu himself ,  the Father of all things ,  and from her spread the seed of chaos .    The witch spread the seed of her progenitor across the earth ,  whether by physically having children of her own or implanting fragments of her creator within expecting mothers so that their children would be gifted .Ileana was the end goal :  a girl - child born from a strong line of Touched ,  made even more powerful by the presence of being born from six generations in which both parents were Touched .

Lhu'ctu [elder god]: original chaos , birther of the universecreated the universe , then shattered reality into many fragments ie the multverse . He is said to be a swirling mass of tentacles reaching an impossible size , though when faced with his Fated Child he wears the skin of a man.

ancient line of witches ( the first witch was a child of lhu'ctu) though she was powerful because she has more blood in her than any other witch (six half-witch males in her immediate family, which is rare)

𝐏𝐇𝐘𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌 While not bound to flesh like other beings , Chtolyeha holds some small sense of attachment to a ( horrifically distorted ) version of Her once human flesh . If She were to appear before Another , one capable of perceiving Her in all of Her glory , then She often appears as a sort of inhuman caricature of Her body before Ascension .While the flesh She dons is meant to resemble Her previous human façade , nothing about Her appears mortal . Everything about Her screams other , and thus it is impossible for one to lay eyes upon Her and think She is anything less than a God constrained in human flesh .Ileana had a sweet face , heart - shaped with high cheekbones and full lips , and this was the basis of which Chtolyeh's skin is built . She often does not bother adjusting the skin She wears , which results in Her body looking as though Her skin is a few sizes too small , Her frame almost skeletal in nature and Her cheeks , eyes , and collarbones appearing bruised and hollow . Her lips appear full , but there is nothing soft about them : constantly dripping from Her mouth are the remnants of realities unmade , echoing with the cries of those erased time and time again , Her great maw a pitch black hole teeming with dead cries .To peer into Chyolyeha's gaze is to look upon the Abyss , the sort of darkness that seems to pull one in and drown them . There is no light to reflect upon Her eyes , nor any emotion to be conveyed within them , only the unending void of nothingness that inspires nameless horror within all who see Her . Likewise , the hair that adorns Her chosen flesh more often than not appears the same shade as Her eyes , the darkness of space smearing like paint down Her back and along the ground . Just as her eyes do , the chosen appearance of Her hair does not reflect light or shine , but instead absorbs all light around it .Nothing of Her form is consistent , as it changes with her thoughts and feelings in the moment , meaning that Her height and weight are constantly fluctuating , limbs sometimes far too long to look human on Her body or even Her bones becoming more like writhing masses beneath Her skin . Her entire form moves as though it has a mind of its own , the mere presence of Her being akin to the untold horrors of the primordial void , a black hole in human flesh .

lhu'ctu exists at the epicenter of all universes and timelines , where he has remained since his initial shattering of the multiverse . he exists everywhere at all times, true omnipotence , he is the one who creates realitieshe does Not create life (other beings are responsible for that) and he doesn't create beings , the only exception was [first witch]chtolyeha is immensely powerful because she was born from him , but she essentially killed and devoured him to usurp his throne . she takes a more active approach to her role as a creator , and often makes and unmakes realities when she becomes bored of them. The concept of aetherial tattoos was one pioneered between Irhen and her father in order to help her with her aether control , which was so bad she caused explosions when casting spells and left her bedridden for days after attempting teleporting .Each tattoo has a unique function :      her full sleeve acts as a focal point to help her channel aether for spells ,  her back is geared toward augmenting her balance to prevent her aether sickness from teleporting and aid in her general balance ,  while the tattoo down her hip and leg augments her physical endurance for running and jumping .

Though outwardly she cannot age, Angelica still feels the difference in years ,  meaning the fatigue still catches up to her with time ,  reminding her of her true age .

Angelica is often described as delicate , with thin fingers and long arms and her barely average height . Her breasts are on the smaller side , which adds to the image of her having a willowy figure . However , while her upper body lies on the slimmer side of the spectrum , she has a set of almost unproportionally wide hips and thick thighs to counter this , which she’s been rather self - conscious of for the entirety of her adult life . ( Teenage boys are cruel . ) Though she’d been among the average height for girls her age back home , Angelica is usually on the shorter side , standing at the fine line between 5’4” and 5’5” in height .Angelica has very fair skin with cool undertones , a creamy sort of complexion that adds to her seemingly fragile appearance . Angelica has a very notable accent and an almost sing - song cadence to her words . As her native tongue is called Gàidhlig , to some it’s almost instantly recognisable as a type of Scottish accent . Her ancestors’ tongue of Vesperian is soft and elegant when compared to her mother tongue , which causes a very distinct conflict in her own accent . The Vesperian language is oftentimes described as musical in nature , with long drawn out vowels and sharp , staccato consonants to accent them , each sentence sounding like a segment of a song being played instead of simple words being spoken . This translates into Angelica’s delivery of the English language , often drawling her words out and speaking with a rhythmic cadence .Her tone could almost be described as a sort of crooning tune , often low and soft - spoken with murmurs notes and a touch of whimsical knowledge to her words . Angelica often hums before speaking , or even after words mid - sentence , and her default manner of speaking is in almost intimate fashions . She speaks low and gentle , much like how she would read bedtime stories to Lucia , her words often delivered with the same gentle touch of a mother’s love in all things . Though her words are often soft and her tone hushed in comparison to most , her words always ring clear and true , delivered with a confidence that can only be described as “absolute .” Angelica’s knowledge fills every word , every note of her voice , draping it in a sort of self - confidence that can often inspire others around her , a soft but soulful sort of sound .

She is by no means a pacifist , however , and will always stand up for what is right . Seeing a mother struggle so valiantly to push against the might of Hydaelyn herself , and knowing that the mother was necessary for the success of the chosen Warrior of Light , Nophica saw fit to bestow upon Angelica her gift : the seed .The power Nophica has given Angelica is vast , though she does not realise just how unique this power actually is . By channeling the magic offered to her by Nophica , Angelica is worthy of the title of White Mage , a power that no other but the Padjal or the Warrior of Light could achieve .While this power allowed for Angelica to stand by Koharu’s side through the events of Shadowbringers , it came with several serious drawbacks : every time Angelica draws upon Nophica’s grace , she is pulled further and further from humanity . The more Angelica uses her power to fight , the further her transformation will progress , until eventually she is rooted in place as a massive tree .

The voices whispered warnings of what she would become , of what it would cost , if she dabbled in magicks she did not understand . They warned her with visions , dreams , agony crawling along the curvature of her skull . They cried out , begged her to stop , to save herself before she became everything she feared ... but their warnings would cost her everything . without her , Her loved ones would be left without her to protect them , to shield them from harm . She could not heed their warnings . So the voices were left to cry out upon deaf ears as their daughter was claimed by another , as she was pushed and pulled apart at the seams . Her ancestors could only watch on helplessly as flowers bloomed in her hair , as her body twisted and grew , as an oak tree splintered out from her chest . Their daughter was stolen from them , and she went all too willingly .

layer iv . the story.

It starts with a headache .Shortly after the first pulse of magic that pulled Thancred away from their dimension , Angelica began using her ability to rift walk in hopes of finding where their allies were vanishing to . This power had been one purposefully bound by Hydaelyn upon Angelica’s first arrival , as it was something that should never have been possible in this universe , and it was only through sheer force of will that Angelica had been able to tap into it once more .Magic comes with a price . This is a law as old as time itself , a law Angelica knew more intimately than her own name , and it is a law that is not limited to one universe . The first time she wakes after using her forbidden ability , she’s struck with blinding pain along her skull , white - hot agony that lasts hours before finally dulling to a muted ache . The pain never disappears , flaring up with even more intensity each time she uses her ancestor’s power once more . It’s mounting toward a crescendo , building toward something , a pressure threatening to burst from her head .After she manages to pull her allies into the realm of the first shard , Angelica loses consciousness for several days as a result . The agony is unbearable , but she refuses to stop pushing herself . Koharu needs her . She sees the first flower petals falling from her hair like snow , finds the seeds on the crown of her head when she’s brushing her hair , and waves this oddity off as some strange normalcy belonging to the First . She does not make the connection to her blinding headaches , to the agony that is stemming from the crown of her head and stabbing outward from her chest , and simply brushes off the implications . Even as flowers bloom into full in her hair , spilling down her shoulders , she thinks nothing of it . It is too late : she has already tapped into magicks she could not understand , a primordial force that has taken root in her bones .

It progresses with change as she uses her strangely altered powers to heal . Eos won't answer her calls . The stone of the scholar she'd held near and dear to her heart , earned through blood and tears , is dull and unresponsive . Her hair is changing colour more and more rapidly , deep chestnut strands lightening to a pale blonde in large chunks at a time . Her eyes , once the brilliant blue of the sky , are now such a pale cornflower that they're nearly white , ringed with limbal rings that glow an eerie , pale yellow hue . Her ears ache as if they’ve been pulled taut , elongating unnaturally outward from her head . Her fingers curl and creak painfully over time , nails elongating with each spell that’s cast . It feels as if the colour and humanity is bleeding out of her from a wound she cannot see , leaving her white as a corpse , a grave already marked with flowers .Her bones ache . Her skin breaks apart , earth giving way to bone - white bark on her wrists and joints , and antlers of pristine bone begin emerging from her head . The flowers continue to bloom from the mighty branches spreading from her head , falling around her face like macabre snow . Though she’d no idea of the truth , Angelica had been claimed as the daughter of another : Nophica takes note of her love , her sacrifice for those she loves , and gifts her the power to continue .

Kagami’s hair colour was always an oddity in her tribe : it is the colour of freshly fallen snow , still unmarred by the haphazard footpaths of man , so impossibly pristine that it almost seems luminescent beneath the light of a full moon . The brilliant hue of her hair is further emphasised by faint undertones of purple and blue , splashes of delicately pastel colours that seem to give her hair a pearlescent sheen as a result . She has always made sure to take care of her hair , as it is a source of joy and mild vanity — it is the one thing she hadn’t been forced to change about herself , the one thing she was allowed to choose for herself — and because of this , it is meticulously styled and trimmed regularly . Her hair is incredibly long , grown out and tended to with her utmost devotion , and it falls down her back with the slightest of natural curls at the ends of her hair , reaching nearly to the middle of her thighs when worn down .It’s not uncommon to find her wearing her hair in a braid thrown over her shoulder or pinned up in an intricate bun , as Kagami’s sense of style never really had a chance to establish itself and so she’s still learning .Her face is undeniably oval - shaped , with a soft jawline accentuated by high cheekbones and oft - painted lips that seem just slightly too plump for her face . The way her scales frame her face draws attention to her eyes , her horns curling forward and further framing her cheekbones , and they also make her face seem even more slender than it truly is . Kagami’s eyes are slightly too large for her face , almond in shape with their outer corners pointing upward — a feature commonly referred to as peach flower eyes — and they are always open wide as she takes in the new sights around her . The hue of her eyes could be described as something akin to pale lavender , streaked with violet around her slit pupils , and lined with sky - blue limbal rings that add an almost electric interest to her gaze .Along the ridge of her narrow nose and the width of her cheekbones ( as well as across her entire body ) are countless ritual tattoos that , due to their infusion of aether , actually glow like tiny stars in the dark .

The village of Hoshiyama has a very distinct dialect [ comparison : Kyō - kotoba ] when spoken alongside other native speakers of the Doman tongue . As a village steeped in traditions of the Old Ways and propriety , the manner in which its people speak reflects that clearly . Their dialect is derived from old nobility , left unchanged after their village’s founding , and as such their pronunciation is notably formal and out of place . Kagami’s accent is soft but very noticable , spoken in low tones that have artfully drawn out vowels , each syllable spoken with a cultured roll of the tongue that often garners her slightly perplexed glances . While she can be clearly understood when speaking , it’s obvious even to other Doman refugees that Kagami is an outsider .Kagami speaks in low tones , but her voice is by no means flat or monotonous . Her voice and tone are best suited to the reciting of classical poetry , falling and rising along each stanza she utters like the push and pull of the tide . Her voice rolls along the lows and highs of each syllable she’s speaking until sentences become melodies , her words falling from her lips like notes of a symphony . Kagami’s voice is described as husky , pitched low and contrasting nicely against her soft appearance , and it can become especially jarring at times due to her languid manner of speaking , leaving her voice sounding rather sensual , almost sexual , as a result . This is completely unintentional , and Kagami — inexperienced , unknowing of the effect this could have — does not realise that she can sound this way to others .Her manner of speech could be described as sluggish , a sort of elegant drawl that stands out starkly in comparison to her almost painful eagerness in all things . Despite her high energy and eagerness , Kagami is always slow and careful with her words , each word articulated with the utmost care before being uttered . She was raised to speak as if she were addressing the Gods themselves at all times , and thus it is incredibly rare to find her speaking with anything less than the most respectful and courtly manner she’s capable of . Despite not being well - read and having been raised with minimal social interaction , Kagami is still eloquent — her vocabulary is constantly expanding , and she enjoys learning new ways to convey what she wishes to express .

the personality Kagami's personality is something that changes drastically throughout the expansions . Due to how she was raised , Kagami was never allowed to form any kind of personality of her own — her thoughts , her feelings , and her beliefs were strictly controlled by her tribe , and thus she struggles to find out who she is beyond that . While she could be described as demure and shy throughout Heavensward , Kagami is not a quiet or meek individual . After spending her entire life swallowing what she's always wanted to say , Kagami swiftly becomes the type of girl to say what she thinks as she thinks it .

While having no brain to mouth filter can be admirable at times , more often than not Kagami's sometimes caustic remarks could cause more trouble than they're worth . ( The benefit of not being fluent in anything but her mother tongue , though , is that usually only Koharu understands what she's saying . ) Kagami tends to verbalise her distaste for people , believing strongly that individuals speaking over marginalised groups should sit down and shut up , and as a someone raised without any kind of prejudice for someone being different than she , she is incredibly tolerant of all people regardless of race or gender .( This does not include Garleans , who she has a particularly strong hatred for after Koharu tells her of what happened to their nation . )Kagami's personality could be considered obsessive , as she tends to cling violently to what she has and refuses to part with it . The most blatant example is Koharu : Kagami's usually non - existent temper has a hair - trigger when it involves her lover , igniting in explosive outbursts when Koharu is hurt . She becomes a Dancer solely because she can hurl bladed weapons at those who try to hurt her beloved , and she falls into despair as a Reaper in order to protect what is hers and to never lose Koharu ever again .Her personality , so usually calm and collected , shifts very noticably into feral and antagonistic toward those who hurt or belittle Koharu in any way . She's a very empathetic person , even more so when it comes to Koharu , which means that even the slightest discomfort on Koharu's part can set Kagami on edge . Someone makes a comment that makes Koharu tense up ? Kagami's already drawing a weapon . She has exactly zero chill when it comes to her important people .

As a method of controlling their exposure to the outside world and refusing any material attachments outside of their duties , all Maidens of Hoshimiya were forbidden from learning to read or write whatsoever . This means that Kagami is completely illiterate , something she is embarrassed of and wishes dearly to rectify . Though she is currently learning to speak Common , Kagami is only fluent in the traditional Doman tongue and is thus completely reliant on Koharu's Echo to translate for her . Kagami struggles often with language barriers , becoming disheartened whenever she feels incapable of conveying what she needs by hand gestures and miming her meaning .

Uchū no Ishi [ 宇宙の意志 ] , roughly translates to ❛ will of the universe. ❜ Uchū no Ishi is a unique blend of cultures , as the founding fathers of Hoshiyama wished to distance themselves from others in the far east . They do not worship the Kami ; instead , their religion is based on Eorzea’s Twelve , using their constellations as a starting point . Hoshiyama’s culture is often compared to a cult , as their gods are used to both inspire fear in the people of the village as well as awe and adoration . Their Gods are all equal and this serves a purpose : each influences an individual aspect of their daily lives , meaning that anything the Elders disapprove of is considered a “slight” against the gods that can negatively impact everyone in the village .

In the village of Hoshiyama , there is an ancient and sacred tradition : a single girl - child is selected from each generation to act as the destined vassal of the Gods , chosen to bear the hopes and dreams of the entire tribe . The chosen girl is determined by the Rite of Selection , a test that is placed before a child as soon as they are capable of holding a brush . In this test, a scroll covered in seemingly nonsensical dots is given to each young girl in the hopes that she can instinctively draw the constellations of The Twelve by connecting the dots — something they deem a direct sign from the Gods themselves . Whichever child that is capable of this act is appointed as the next Maiden of Hoshimiya , stepping into the role and relieving the duties of the current maiden before her skin can become overly full .On the night of each full moon , the Festival of Granting is held within the village walls . This festival is completely barred from outsiders , a sacred event in which the Maiden is subjected to the Rite of Granting . The people of the Hoshimoto tribe gather on this night to offer their prayers to the gods through this ritual , infusing white ink with aether and using this combination to carve symbolic tattoos along the maiden’s flesh . Each tattoo is a singular dot on her skin , seen as a star upon which each person makes a wish, and it is their belief that their ardent prayers in combination with their Maiden’s sacrificial pain will show the Gods that they are in need . Each person is allowed only one wish per festival , and once the night of the full moon is over , the Maiden is returned to the inner sanctum of the shrine to await the next one .

layer iv . the history.

Hidden amongst the sheer rock face and glittering shards of crystal , tucked well from sight within the shadows of the Valley of the Fallen Rainbow , lies the small village of Hoshiyama . Home to the reclusive Hoshimoto tribe , it was a village of a unique subculture , its people embracing what their ancestors called the Old Ways . Though they willingly acknowledged themselves as part of Doma , the tribe of Hoshimoto kept largely to themselves , never allowing outsiders to learn of their ways . Despite their antisocial ways , the people of Hoshimoto would still allow visitors to come and stay within the walls of their village , often sharing the legend of their valley to sate any curiosity of their ways .As it’s writ in long , elegant brush strokes along the worn fabric of Hoshimoto’s record , the child called Kagami was brought into the world amidst the biting cold of 1550’s harshest winter . She was a unique child in many ways : her hair and scales matching perfectly to the freshly fallen snow blanketing the little village of Hoshiyama , and she did not make a single sound in greeting to world as she emerged , never once crying out as all newborn babes tend to do . She was named with high hopes for the future by her mother , who believed from the instant she’d seen her child’s unique colouring that she’d been chosen by the Gods for a special puirpose . Born to her Raen mother and Xaela father , Kagami stood out when compared to many other children her age , though this only seemed to further the collective hope for her to be Chosen .Fate answered in kind , and not even two summers had passed before Kagami proved that she was indeed the destined maiden , marked for a fate that would serve her tribe for decades to come . Her parents did not grieve the loss of their child , instead celebrating the young life they’d reared and relinquished hold of as they lit a single incense on the family shrine in Kagami’s honour . The daughter of Shiori and Asato was declared dead , leaving in her place the babe known as Hoshikuzu Kagami , the chosen daughter that would carry her peoples’ hopes and dreams to the heaven with her body and soul . Kagami was placed within the shrine of Hoshmiya , hidden from the world and forbidden from then on to meet anyone outside of the shrine handmaids , and over the next several years she began performing her duty .

It was the year 1552 when the proud kingdom of Doma was forced to take a knee before the Garlean Empire’s rule , and it was this development that made the Hoshimoto tribe even more determined to maintain their secrecy . It was perhaps due to their village’s placement — so far out of the way , tucked amongst the cliffsides for secrecy , that they were not as rigorously policed as their sister tribes .Due to their advantageous positioning and what they hoped could be used as the element of surprise , pieces of a possible plan are slowly but surely woven into a tapestry of rebellion . In the spring of 1561 , the Hoshimoto tribe hosts a festival and , for the first time in its history , openly invites outsiders to enjoy themselves within the village walls — and it is with this festival that Lord Tadahide of the Buhen’s branch clan , under the guise of allowing his daughter to enjoy being a child , pays a visit to the village of Hoshiyama . Perhaps it is because their attention was fixated on the hidden intentions of such a festival , or perhaps they were simply growing lax due to Kagami’s model behaviour ; whatever the reason , it was on this night that Kagami met the young girl with cherry blossoms in her hair and sunshine in her eyes , and her life was from then on irrevocably changed .Her name was Koharu, and she was the daughter of the Buhen branch clan head that had come to the village to visit the elders . Koharu , having snuck away to investigate the shrine she’d been barred entry to , was understandably confused as to the reasdon why Kagami could not leave the room with wooden slats keeping her windows shut — but worse , she was offended ! For the first time in her entire life , Kagami was simply allowed to sit and talk with someone not obligated by duty and honour to tend to her , someone who gladly told her about the birds Kagami could sometimes hear singing and about the feeling of dirt between her toes . Since Kagami could not leave to experience the festival herself — something that she’d been miserable about — Koharu had taken it upon herself to escape back into the village proper in order to gather supplies .If you can’t go out to the festival , Koharu had said , then I’ll just bring the festival to you .That memory had stayed with Kagami for years after the fact , a warm light in her heart that gave her hope for one day seeing the world herself . It was her secret sin , a worldly attachment she’d not confessed to any of the handmaids for fear of being ousted as a failure . She kept the memory of her friend — Koharu , her one and only friend — alive in her heart for the next sixteen summers , the one thing to draw strength from when even at her lowest points .Kagami was twenty seven summers old when , in the year 1577 , she was woken in the dead of night by a handmaid — Kanade , she recalls , a young Xaela girl who was always far too small for her age — with the express command to stay quiet . A bag of rations , clothing , and a crudely made knife were shoved into her hands and , as she struggled to blink the sleep from her eyes , Kagami was led out of the shrine for the first time in her entire life . She had no time to marvel at the sensation of grass against her legs or the feel of the air on her skin as she was pulled by the wrist across the rolling hills that hugged the mountains around them . More than once , Kagami tried to protest — Maidens weren’t allowed outside , this was a grave sin , and despite the toe - curling temptation to indulge herself, her duty bound her to her fate — but every time she opened her mouth , Kanade had hushed her with a grave expression far too old for her meager years .Kagami was roughly pulled to a trading vessel , its hull pulled close to the land and its crew looking rather skittishly around as they helped several others onto the ship . It was not until much later , when Kagami was alone on the ship and staring at the shoreline where Kanade had remained , that she learned of the rebellion finally coming to a head . Having been so sheltered from the outside world , Kagami had been shocked to learn of the Garlean’s rule over her people , and even more surprised to learn that her own tribe had become aggressors to protect their sacred land . She would not learn for several months of the fate of her village , but she still grieved for the village of Hoshiyama when she was told that it — and her tribe — had been razed to the ground .From trading vessel to caravan , from caravan to single wagon , Kagami eventually finds herself in the land called Ishgard . It’s cold , no one seems to understand her , and she is an outsider — distrusted for her race , treated with extreme prejudice that she can’t even understand . She’s safe here , though , and as she wanders with freezing fingers and a growling stomach into the walls of Foundation , eyes drawn toward the building engraved with the very same constellations carved into her flesh , Kagami thinks that perhaps she’d needed a difficult beginning in order to have a happy ending .

Like her mother ,  Tsusan’s entire back is covered in scales ,  revealing no skin whatsoever until below her hips and tail ,  with her father’s tribe's tell - tale scales wrapping beneath her breasts ,  across her hips ,   and trailing down between her ribs and her abdomen .Like her mother’s tribe ,  Tsusan has four horns as opposed to her father's two ,  with large curled horns arching over her head and to the sides .   Likewise , Tsusan’s scale to skin ratio matches her mother’s , leaving her with more scale than skin .

Even with the Echo , Tsusan has a very noticeable accent when she speaks in Eorzean . [ real world equivalent : Khalkha dialect , as spoken in Ulaanbaatar ] Due to the pronounciation of the Mongolian language , Tsusan often replaces the ‘w’ sound in words with a ‘v’ sound , and does the reverse for words with a ‘v’ sound in them .[ example : water = vater , veteran = weteran ] She also tends to change any ‘t’ sounds to a firm ‘d’ and any words with a ‘th’ sound with a hard ‘t’ .Though the Echo allows Tsusan to understand and be understood in any language , the only one she is fluent in is the Haragin tribe's local dialect of Far Eastern . Without the Echo , Tsusan most likely would struggle to understand even in the Azim Steppe , as their manner of speaking and language is largely different from her own .While Tsusan tends to keep her words succinct and to - the - point in conversation , her tone does not match the almost business - like responses she gives to most she speaks to ; instead , Tsusan’s tone gives the impression that she’s incredibly bored , a lazy sort of manner of speaking in which she draws out her vowels and all but purrs her words .

the personality On the surface , it's apparent that Tsusan’s entire being oozes self - confidence . She’s a sort of anchor in any tense situation due to her naturally exuding a sense of self that is impossible to miss , easily seen in the way she holds herself and speaks with a straight spine and squared shoulders . She’s always been this way : even during her time with her tribe , Tsusan always stood above her peers as someone that was simply more — it is , in fact , a joke her mother makes often that Tsusan willed Hydaelyn to choose her as a Warrior of Light . It’s one of the unchanging facts of life : the sky is blue , the grass is green , and Tsusan of the Haragin is simply exceptional .

While confident in herself , Tsusan is by no means cruel or rude ; in fact , Tsusan is rather kind - hearted and forgiving , the embodiment of the Jerk With A Heart of Gold trope . She seems haughty due to her confidence , and those who have never spoken to her often talk behind their hands that she looks down on others because of her looks . ( She unfortunately has a terminal case of Face of a Thug . ) Before the events of A Realm Reborn’s patch content , Tsusan was a very cheerful and uplifting individual , playful and teasing her comrades with ease .A key part of her personality leading up to Heavensward was her belief that classism should be abolished . That is to say , Tsusan robbed the absolute shit out of the rich . Her catch - phrase is “eat the rich .” She’s a Robin Hood figure to those who don’t have the money to lord it over those less fortunate , as she steals the wealth of the rich to hand it out to the impoverished of the realm , becoming a beloved figure among those damned to live on the streets or beg for coin and a revered invitation to the nobility who would never think a Warrior of Light would be the reason their riches keep disappearing .At the end of ARR , when Nanamo falls to the ground after being “poisoned ,” Tsusan’s first reaction is to loot the room . While Abi is having her meltdown about being framed and the implications of it all , Tsusan is wearing Nanamo’s tiara as a bracelet and has a makeshift napsack of miscellaneous ornaments that could feed a family for a year from around the room . Her priority in that moment rested firmly in aiding those less fortunate , as she was and always will be a champion of the people first and foremost . Even as she was running through the streets of Ul'dah in the direction of Coerthas , Tsusan was throwing gilded objects to those on the streets in her wake .In the beginning , when her friends don't arrive alongside her , Tsusan doesn’t handle the isolation well . She dislikes Haurchefant and is uncomfortable with how hard he tries to make her feel welcome , and she’s torn between screaming and going back to Ul’dah for blood and simply sitting outside the gates of Camp Dragonhead for hours at a time , covered in inches of piling snow until Haurchefant gently drags her back inside . The knife she holds on her side was a parting gift from Hyou , a promise to reunite , and she often clutches it like a talisman to her chest as she waits , and waits , and waits .When they’re reunited , Tsusan’s personality shifts from loud and abrasive to outright feral , especially in regards to protecting her comrades . She goes from eloquent and sly , talking circles around politics and sneering at those she catches in a corner to outright snarling and spitting threats and just generally forgoing any sort of “keep the peace” route . She does eventually become pretty fond of Haurchefant , which is rather upsetting with the ending of Heavensward . His sacrifice for her friends acts as a balm on an old wound , reminding her that they’re not alone and she doesn’t have to protect them entirely by herself , and she often finds herself sitting by his grave in the aftermath to thank him for helping her deal with the seething rage that had been burning in her chest .This is how she slowly comes back to herself , the anger and rage finally dying down and allowing her to think past it for the first time .

Occupying the fourteenth seat of [ Azem ] , the one called Olympia was a wanderer and a rebel at heart . The only reason Olympia even accepted a role within the convocation was for Venat , who she trusted and looked up to , as she trusted Venat's judgement despite her personal reservations .After all , Olympia had a noted disrespect for the Convocation's view of what counted as "life," especially in regards to their callous unmaking of the living , breathing , and feeling creatures of Elpis .Despite her dislike of the Convocation , she did have a close bond with Hades , who held [ the seat of Emet - Selch ] , and with Hythlodaeus . More often than not , Olympia could be found trailing after the two of them in her dyed Convocation robes and mask ( pale pink , of course , like the rebel she was ) and giving Hades a hard time alongside their shared best friend .

Tsusan is a member of the [ Haragin tribe ] , a nomadic tribe that prides itselves on retelling the tales of its adventures for royalty and producing the most successful of bards . ( Their most famous tale is the one that tells stories of traversing the sea to the New Lands and seeing a world ruled by “iron monsters,” which has lead to the tribe being severely superstitious and reclusive in later generations . ) Her father is named Ganbaarar , and he is a sworn son of the Haragin tribe , born and raised in the Azim Steppe — while her mother , Njeri , came from across the sea from the New Lands with tales her her own tribe’s ways .Tsusan left her tribe upon realising she’s been bestowed the Echo , using it as her Get Out Of Jail Free card . Tsusan only has scathing remarks about the Haragin tribe and what it has become , as it was once a great nomadic tribe that has only allowed itself to become stagnant due to fear of the unknown . Tsusan’s entire upbringing could be described at best as cautious and at worst controlling .

although Fūgetsu has no Echo to translate speech for him , he does have a knack for learning new languages . As the scholar of his family , it wasn’t at all odd for Fūgetsu to spend his days reading foreign texts and educating himself on the world around him when not hunting . This thirst for knowledge has resulted in his having a decent grasp on several languages spoken across his planet — though he is only fluent in the traditional Doman tongue , he can hold a decent conversation in the Common tongue as well . He is constantly looking to learn new languages from everyone he meets during his travels .

the personality On the surface , Fūgetsu is sunshine incarnate — eager as a puppy , he will often trail after his companions prattling away about everything under the sun . If tensions are high , he’s the first to crack a joke or attempt to diffuse the situation , always stepping in to put a stop to conflict before it can really start . If one were to ask around for the word to describe him , the most common answer would be bright , closely followed by loud . It’s not often one finds him not grinning widely , teeth bared in an expression that could be called wholesome or threatening depending on the situation . Being kind and upbeat is just the sort of person he is , and he tries to radiate that positivity to all those around him .

He's always angry. )~~ In all seriousness , Fūgetsu has never really dealt with Kōgeki’s betrayal of their tribe , nor with the grief that has been hanging over his head ever since . When alone , his face and demeanour completely shift , with his expression twisted into a fierce scowl and his posture rigid as opposed to his usual relaxed slouch . His smile acts as a barricade against the emotions constantly warring in his chest , his laughter a way to press down the bellows of hatred he’s constantly swallowing .Perhaps that’s why he’s so ferocious in combat — after all , he was merely a hunter for his tribe before , not a warrior . Perhaps it’s when he allows all those feelings to surface , when he channels all of that into the brutal pace of battle , that Fūgetsu can finally allow a small part of him to accept his grief . It’s sort of like a switch : his bright laughter abruptly shifting to menacing , wordless howls of anger , from relaxed posture to a living weapon among the carnage . This rage , this primal need to hurt those who hurt others , is something that Fūgetsu keeps a tight leash on .His creed is thus : he will never allow his own hurt to impact an innocent person .

Her singing voice can be used to lure humans to her , placing them in a sort of trance that makes them susceptible to suggestion . Some sirens use this to make land - dwellers do their bidding when the hunting grounds are spread thin , and Chise herself tends to use this ability for material goods . 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐋 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒 Sirens have the ability to not only communicate with aquatic creatures with words , but they also have the ability to pass on non - vocal orders with their gaze . This is the method with which sirens waged war with land - dwellers , using sea - dwellers to form a sort of army for their needs . 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐄 When submerged in a body of water , Chise can will her body to become one with the water . This gives the appearance of Chise’s body melting into the water , allowing her to move about undetected . 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 As creatures born several leagues below the ocean’s surface , sirens’ eyes allow them near - perfect vision in any lighting . 𝐀 𝐒𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐍'𝐒 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐄
Though reborn as a human on Earth , Chise’s true form is that of a siren — and though her appearance as Sailor Mermaid has not changed from her previous life , her base form of a human is nothing more than a facade that masks her true nature . While once only her transformation bestowed upon her the ability to walk on two legs , it’s now a privilege that can be interrupted with the most mundane trigger : saltwater .Whenever Chise’s body comes into contact with saltwater , her human form quickly begins to melt away to reveal her true sirenic nature . Even the merest spray of sea water along the beach can trigger the beginnings of this transformation , revealing a myriad of rainbow scales along her flesh wherever the water touches . In small amounts, the effects aren’t as blatant — a splash against her legs will leave a smattering of her scales visible , or drops against her ears may elongate them or leave scales on her cheeks .It’s when Chise is fully submerged that her truest and most base form is revealed . Her eyes brighten , her pupils becoming mere slits while her eyes reflect light almost akin to a feline’s eyes . Her ears elongate and spread into twin fins protruding from scales along her cheeks , while scales also stretch down her chest and sides to join her tail . Her fingers are webbed , her fingers tipped with fierce nails , and her teeth become reminiscent of a shark , making her expressions appear that much more menacing .

Her human ears are replaced by her head fins ,  lined with thick scales that utilise vibrations in order to hear ,  and her hair flows to her ankles in thick waves of blue that changes from the bright blue of the shallows to a deep ,  nearly midnight hue of the darkest depths .    Her jaw lengthens ,  becoming notably slender while the line of her mouth widens considerably ,  filled with rows of razor sharp teeth that look as if they belong in the mouth of a shark .    Strewn throughout her thick locks are are countless pearls ,  as well as a pearl headdress that acts as her tiara .As where most sailor soldiers have a uniform that is made of clothing or armour ,  Sailor Mermaid’s is made up of scales and translucent cloth .    Her forearms are covered in scales that start at her wrists and begin to break up just above the elbow ,  while her breasts and hips are covered in scales ,  leaving patches of her stomach and back bare beneath the shimmering lines .    Her legs are covered by deep ,  midnight blue boots that reach well over her knee , as well as a short blue skirt that is translucent and open in the middle ,  pinned in place by a small seashell .    Her seashell pendant that she uses to transform appears pinned to a pearl necklace around her throat ,  while a massive aquamarine gemstone settles in the middle of her chest .    Her shoulders are covered with a deep blue cape ,  which flows down her back like water and becomes transparent around her knees ,  vanishing entirely around her ankles . Pinned at the small of her back is a blue bow,  which glows in the dark and — upon closer inspection — is revealed to be a poisonous jellyfish ,  something she uses in close combat as a defense mechanism . Nate was a us soldier from the minute he could enlist , not because he was particularly patriotic or interested in the military , but because it was the only real option for an impoverished orphan in Boston . He fought in several skirmishes before the Great War , having earned a decent title and rank that gave him the stability he'd never had growing up , which he tried to use to help one of his fellow soldiers with a wrongful conviction . This was how he met Macha , and as "thanks" for clearing his friend's name , Nate took her out to dinner . They were married within the year .
